Michelle Williams seems to have cornered the market on messy relationship dramas. Drawing comparison with the superior Blue Valentine, this is a slow moving but insightful film.

Some standout musical sequences featuring Buggles' Video Killed the Radio Star and the Leonard Cohen track that was used for the title linger in the memory.

The film is beautifully shot and Williams is excellent as usual but I found this too boring and self indulgent to recommend it.
