Fast Five 2011
Rewatched Aug 09, 2012
Adam Cook’s review:
As unapologetically cheesy and joyously entertaining as the last time I watched it. I still can't believe the fifth instalment in a poor franchise could turn out as good as this.
Do you know if Vegas has set odds on part six sucking again?
I'm hoping now they've discovered a formula that works that the sixth film will maintain the quality.
As long as The Rock is in it, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
I too was surprised at how enjoyable it was considering how much I hated the fourth film. I was also heavily impressed by how Lin's style as an action director progressed. It seems he finally has learned to master chaotic action, and is one of the few directors to do so.
Looking forward to the 6th film. Hopefully it's just as fun.
I've also noticed that I enjoy the odd numbered films more than the even numbered ones (yes, I actually really like Tokyo Drift).
Agreed. The odd numbered films are vastly superior to 2 and 4.
I completely agree with your short review Adam. (I recently rewatched it as well)
Interesting observation by Cinebro.
Cinebro I did enjoy Tokyo Drift you are not the only one.. and this one too, what should I call it fast and furious 5, hahaha.. I did enjoy it quite a bit.
@Adam I've been meaning to see this film for awhile now, but I missed the last two films, Fast & Furious and Tokyo Drift. Can I go into this without seeing them or do you have to see all of the Fast films?
This movie was FUN.
@SilentJoe: You don't need to see the other films to enjoy this one. You won't recognise all the characters but it doesn't mean much bar missing out on a couple of little inconsequential references.
Alright thanks Adam. I'll check it out sometime this week then.
I hated it. But then again, I hate them all.
@Adam Just finished watching it. It was really fun. I dug the hell out of it.
Glad you enjoyed it. I thought you would.
Easily the best of the lot. Though i still liked the 4th a bit. The 2nd one sucked.
