Adam Cook’s review:
The Pool Boys is another inept modern sex comedy. Maybe it is because I’m now older and have outgrown them but I don’t remember this sub-genre of comedy being quite so shitty when I was growing up. Given the plot - a teen starts a brothel to pay for his Harvard tuition - it is surprisingly chaste with very safe jokes which hardly push the concept or genre to new limits.
The cast aren’t particularly bad even if the lead looks like a 12-year old but the script is devoid of any laughs. The gags are obvious, the romantic subplot vaguely creepy and when the best thing about a film is Tom Arnold you know you’ve got problems. Utterly forgettable.
2deep4u. It seems I've fallen behind on pointing out your pleb status.
You certainly have. I thought you'd gone on holiday or something.
