Vampires: Ranked

No doubt I'm missing a few but these are the vampire films I've seen and ranked in order.

Leptirica doesn't appear to be on the database but it would be relatively low on the list anyway.

  • Indeed. I watched it for the first time in years not that long ago and it still holds up very well (although I do concede you probably had to see it first back when it was released, or thereabouts).

  • Do you guys actually like Vampire's Kiss or did you include it because it was somewhat obligatory?

  • If you haven't already I would recommend the book for Let the Right One In, as there is an interesting plot-line not in the film, and it does go into the back story a lot more.

  • @Pat: I adore Vampire's Kiss (hence its high placing). Cage's performance is ridiculously entertaining.

@Ian Dickie: Unfortunately I still haven't read the book. I really should get around to it one of these days.

  • Have you not seen Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter because I think it is a better vampire film than the Twilight films.

  • No I haven't. To be clear, these aren't my 100 favourite vampire films, this is a list of ALL the vampire films I've seen (or at least can remember and that are on the database). The Twilight saga would be nowhere near a favourites list for me.

  • I actually think the movie adaptation of Let the Right One In is far superior to the book because it doesn't spell everything out. It leaves room for your imagination. The book, on the other hand, is completely unambiguous

  • May I make some suggestions?

Def by Temptation, Let's Scare Jessica to Death, Living Dead Girl, Thirst (1979), Vamp, Mr. Vampire, Vampires (2010). I don't really suggest Return to Salem's Lot but it's Larry Cohen and Michael Moriarty so therefore, I love it.

  • Of course you can make suggestions. I've only actually seen three of those so I'll need to check out the others (Mr. Vampire sounds particularly interesting).

  • Mr. Vampire is a lot of fun!!
