The Crazies 2010

Lou Diaz’s review:
The scare tactics here has this predictable gross-out effects that one might expect in such a B-movie type and yet it still delivers. It has this average thriller vibe but Timothy Olyphant as always is good so he salvaged most of the scenes. Direction is not bad but definitely could have been a lot better, some things did not translate well like Radha picking the sheets, the intention is there, it’s nice but the way it’s executed, it’s like you feel what you are watching is scripted. Makeup and appearance of the ‘crazies’ are commendable though, it looks real. The overall feel and the tense atmosphere were well shot and were sustained throughout. Small focus group was the right choice, good thing there were no unnecessary characters [only created] for gruesome fatalities that’s plaguing some exploitation horror-thrillers. It’s a remake, and its predecessor had higher rating at IMDb, I guess it’s worth checking out.
