So there aren't any naked spa fights, stomach vaginas, or exploding heads here. But just because David Cronenberg is telling a more buttoned-down story than usual, it doesn't mean he's not telling an intriguing one, which he certainly is. Taboos are exposed, philosophies challenged, and moral foundations are shaken to their cores. That it's all done in so subtle of a fashion makes their impact all the more effective, so kudos, Cronenberg.
