Edison, the Man 1940

A.J. Hakari’s review:
It's not radiating historical accuracy, but as a good, old-fashioned, inspirational biopic, it's a pretty decent watch. Less cornball than "Young Tom Edison," mostly thanks to Spencer Tracy doing a great job playing Edison as both the elder statesman inventor and a wide-eyed greenhorn shooting for the moon.
