Mark C’s review:
Julia Roberts Irish accent is awful and John Malkovich doesn't even seem to be doing an accent, but this is, nonetheless, an interesting alternate take on the Jekyll and Hyde tale.
British TV favourites George Cole (Minder) and Kathy Staff (Last Of The Summer Wine) pop up as Jekyll's butler and cook respectively and Bronagh Gallagher the extremely underrated Irish actress (The Commitments, Pulp Fiction) is a maid, sharing a bed with Roberts-no, not like that. There are also early roles for Ciaran Hinds and Michael Sheen.
A worthy feature in a triple bill for a rainy day alongside Bram Stoker's Dracula and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein if your mood takes a Gothic turn.
