I really liked this film. I think Anna Paquin does a great job embodying a traumatised teenager trying to cope with the events of a horrible accident as well as struggling with teenage life in general.
I could really relate to her and to the other characters.
Personally, I would have slightly changed the structure and leave out some plots in order to keep the story tighter and a little more engaging.

I dont like musicals.
That said, I loved this movie!
Storywise, no surprises naturally, but omg the cast acted the hell out of this movie. I really enjoyed the singing throughout, I admire that they shot every scene with "live" singing without playback being set beforehand. The film is pretty in your face in what it is trying to convey, no subtle acting, no hidden messages, no ambiguity. It is straight forward, and I liked it for it! It is Les Miserable, it is supposed to be epic and to touch your heart directly, without detours.

I liked the ending. Mostly because it marked the end of this movie.

There are these movies...
that drag you in for the next two hours and you do not feel the time passing by. When they finish you have to take a deep breath and you realise you have been holding it the whole time. I cannot, and to be honest I do not want to put this movie in too many words, I only highly recommend watching it. It is one of the movies I have zero tolerance for not liking them. Jumped my personal top five.
