Out of the Past 1947
Rewatched Jun 11, 2012
markdlarson’s review:
Said it before, I’ll say it again: "OUT OF THE PAST. #greatestmovieofalltime" Part of what sets it apart is an incredible script. I really loved Kirk Douglas even more this time around. I fear that my feelings about the rest of Jacques Tourneur’s work mirror my feelings about about Larry McMurtry’s: I can’t read another Larry McMurtry novel because it won’t be Lonesome Dove (one of my favorite books, ever). Not sure if I can try another Tourneur and give it an honest chance. How can anything compare to your favorite movie?
