Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb 1964 ★★★★½

"There will be no fighting in here. This is the war room!"

Kubricks superb 'war is sex' movie that highlights the absurdity of stockpiling a nuclear arsenal. Sellers puts in three performances (should have been four, but he hurt his ankle and so didn't play the pilot) that are fantastic, but George C Scott just steals the show for me as the General convinced that it's all a Communist plot. Is it laugh out loud hilarious throughout, as some may suggest? No, but it is obviously a comedy played straight and has more than its fair share of comedy gold.
