Mark Jewiss’s review:
Michael Caine in another of his excellent roles portraying a retired magician who moves into a newly setup old people's home. An excellent film that I'm sure would have struggled outside of the UK, but should play well to anyone over thirty with its presentation of lates 80s England.
In some ways it could come off as a TV movie, but it's so much better than that. Funny script, moving in all the right places, my only issue was how quickly Caines character settled in after his initial hesitance to move into the home. Hily recommended.
