Letterboxd — Your life in film

I can't understand how poorly-written, poorly-conceived tripe like this gets produced in Hollywood. I can only assume that someone was bribed and that this was a vanity project bankrolled by someone's doting parent.

The scene on the poster there... the one where the little guy is dancing away to his friend's pan pipes in the streets of Brooklyn. That alone merits five stars. Such a great movie - everything strung together perfectly - the emotions, the plot, the characters, the cinematography...

Dropping it half a star because it is kind of rapey.

There were some glimmers of the things that used to make Baron Cohen funny but they were smothered in their crib by focus group tested 'gags' and plot that were utterly unfunny.

'Dear diary' excerpts from a mentally-challenged wannabe criminal. Poorly-written, poorly-acted opportunism.

... also - a friend of a friend knows Tim and Eric in the LA scene and says they're a pair of total assholes. So, whatever, minus 1/2 a star for that.

Like masturbation, this film should have been enjoyable but was instead tainted by the shame of the act.

Excellent film for people that like punching, kicking, knives, explosions and/or guns.

Watched this recently with my wife who had never seen it before. Age brings a new perspective to things and it obviously wasn't as good as I remembered it. Still quite good though.

The most pretentious navel-gazing pile of shit I have had the displeasure of suffering through this year.

Aww, go on... it was fun. Better than the 'clash' one anyway.

This guy is crazy! He spraypaints a gangmember's FACE! He steals a moll. He acts utterly reckless on a turf that is way 'tuffer' than what he's used to. Awesome work young rebel!

Utterly forgettable.
