-Discomfort comedy a la CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM except more "shocking". Simply didn't find it all that funny.

-Works overtime to be an intentionally bad/nutso cult movie--moon Nazis!--but lacks comedic chops. FX surprisingly decent, political commentary on the level of editorial page cartoons.

-It doesn't have much interest in the thematic questions the premise raises, but it succeeds on the modest aims of a self-contained action/sci-fi films go. The action scenes mostly work, particularly some chase scenes. (The elevator fight is botched by the director, though.) The production & art design is quite beautiful. I'm a bit amazed that Wiseman didn't shoot it with the monochrome look of the UNDERWORLD films.
