Gunhed 1989
I really love the look of this film, it shows the craftsmanship of the Japanese effects team that also did a lot of godzilla work. However the story is pretty weak and convoluted which is a shame. The final battle of he giant robots is a bit to chaotic and the megs lack personality. This could have been a lot better.

Tenebre 1982
The movie is still awesome, but I watched the Arrow Blu-Ray and that has terrible audio! Normally I would crank the volume up with an Argento film but not with this release. Simonetti's soundtrack sounded really distorted and when thunder strikes in the finale it sounded like my speakers had blown. So that was a disappointment, especially when you compare it with the audio they did on the Deep Red release, that was excellent!

The War Of The Stars II: The Future in Motion 2012
The follow up to War of the Stars: A New Hope Grindhoused. The grindhouse influences are dropped for the most parts, so this is more a bigger budget sequel to a low budget cult hit.
The future in motion is a new film that contains footage from both Empire and Return, but it's quite a bit different. Clever editing and added footage and special effects provide for some surprises that you won't see coming. Clever in some spots, funny in other. Well done!

Possessed 1983
Not as insane as some of the other Hong Kong horror from the same time (Bewitched for example) but it still has some pretty strange scenes involving ghost rape and weird (although I always believe these rituals are rooted in real eastern beliefs, but maybe that just because I'm not that familiar with eastern culture) rituals. Worth a watch for Hong Kong horror fans.

TRON: Legacy 2010
Re-watch with a friend. Stays entertaining because of the visuals and awesome soundtrack.

A Chinese Fairy Tale 2011
Aka: A Chinese Ghost Story
This was okay but just like many other remakes it lacked something of the soul the original had. It looked good with sets bordering on the cheesy 80's sets (which is a positive thing in my book) but also with some pretty good CGI (for Hong Kong standards). But it's just not as fun as the original and played a bit to serious. And there's no singing taoist monk and no Leslie Cheung ofcourse. Not bad but I rather watch the real thing. Do, Do, Do!

Orca: The Killer Whale 1977
Okay, this one is cheesy as hell in spots but it is also still one of the best Jaws rip-offs that got made. Sure it's about a big predator in the sea but it does a lot things very different. You will have to suspend your belief in more than one scene but its worth it. The finale has to be seen to be believed. This is just a lovely B-movie. Bonus points for the Ennio Morricone score, amazing how that man can make movies better with his music. Check this out on Netflix streaming now!

The War of the Stars: A New Hope Grindhoused 2010
A Star Wars fanedit in grindhouse fashion. So expect mill creek like print quality (not everything is that bad though), no special edition CGI effects, R2D2 subtitled, deleted scenes edited back in, stormtroopers that bleed when shot, new dialogue from Vader and stormtroopers and new and very different music.
Not everything works but it has some hilarious moments. I loved Vaders glowing eyes when he used the force and the ending is gold! Also funny to see that normal scenes…
