I think this is a love story. A right-place, right-time, let’s hold hands and leap into the unknown romance. They’ll never lie to each other. They’ll only lie to each other. They’ll get fucking rich.
An exercise in nuance and perspective and storytelling as a metric for right, wrong, truth, fiction. Goes down so easy for how filling it is, loved it. Liked this best as, or was maybe most impressed by how well this plays as a coming-of-age story for Daniel, with an angle on looming adulthood that I’d never seen before. He’s not just being introduced to the depth of his parents’ dissatisfactions, I’d argue he’s learning more about the unpredictability of life…
