Matthew Buchanan’s review:
Paul Greengrass returns to bring Bourne home in what comes close to being a perfect spy film. Those paying attention will note the cleverly overlapping timeframes between this film and its predecessor. Supremacy’s final, somewhat revelatory scene is replayed here 80 minutes in, following action across Moscow, London, Madrid and Tangier, and sets up a finale in the streets of New York. David Strathairn and Albert Finney bring a gravitas lacking in the second episode, and while the outcome might raise more questions than it answers with respect to Bourne’s motivation, it’s brim-full enough of exotic POV chases, crunching collisions and Charles U. Farley moments to provide an endlessly satisfying conclusion to Operation Treadstone.
