Robinson In Space 1997 ★★★★

Watched Apr 05, 2012

By design more fractured than London, and more breathless as Robinson and the narrator race across the country. As such the themes are much less coherent and instead the focus becomes more on Keiller's beautiful photography. That said, the longer it goes on the obsessions of the narrative do become clearer - a list of which does seem to make as much sense as explication: spying, James Bond, HG Wells, Buckminster Fullerenes, Dracula, manufacturing, Laurence Sterne, Sherlock Holmes, container ports, utopia.
