Stuart Barr’s review:
Made for UK television but released as three movies in the US, the Red Riding Trilogy is among the most suffocatingly dark crime dramas of the last few years. This first installments joncerns a young crime reporter's investigation into a missing child which leads him to be one ensnared in a web of corruption. Andrew Garfield is excellent in the lead, Tony Grisoni's script adapts a difficult novel by David Peace, and Julian Jarrold's direction is superb.
