The Keep 1983

Incomprehensible, boring, terrible FX, a noodling anachronistic Tangerine Dream score, and not scary at all. Horror films are not Michael Mann's forte

I think you might have been a bit harsh: hardly surprising given how much it has let you down over time. That said, I saw it for the first time recently and it ain't great...
I agree 100% Stuart.
Tried watching this three times over the past couple of years, hearing loads of people describe it as a lost classic, and Mann's most underatted film.
I found it incredibly tedious, deliberatly obtuse and a waste of a fantastic premise and cast.
I genuinely remembered liking it from back in the eighties. Viewed now it just seemed laughable and pretentious
