Barton Fink is a masterwork, and Stranger than Fiction and Young Adult are good, but never watch Secret Window. Well, unless you want to drink through it. Such a daft, stupid film.
"Bright Star" is a movie on the life of John Keats. I really enjoyed it but I love John Keats' works. The movie depicts him later in life, showing his romance with Fanny Brawne and the inspiration for much of his poetry.
Great idea for a list. My suggestions are: - Moulin Rouge (Christian is a penniless writer) - Howl - Wilde - Shakespeare in Love - Anonymous - Friends with Money (Jason Isaacs and Catharine Keener are a writing couple) - Brothers Grimm - Basic Instinct - Breakfast at Tiffany's - Iris - The Hours - Sylvia - Miss Potter (obviously, these aren't all good movies) - Becoming Jane
If journalists count: - Never Been Kissed - Almost famous - any Superman film - The Shipping News - the Sex and the City films
Stranger Than Fiction.
You better see Adaptation
@MongooseCmr I have and I love it. It's my favourite writer movie. letterboxd.com/mbarra/list/writers-in-movies-the-films-ive-seen/
How about Finding Forrester? I'm very aware of its limitations, but can't help but love it anyway. Call it a guilty pleasure, if you will.

@Dave "You're the man now, dog!" Added. Thanks for the suggestion.
@Sam Haha, thanks for the tip. :)

Possibly Ken Russell's Gothic, and The World According to Garp.
@Stephanie Sounds right up my alley, thanks for suggesting it.
@Freeman Thanks for the reminder about Garp and the suggestion of Gothic.

@Dani Thanks for your kind comment and thorough contributions. Undecided as to the journos...perhaps they deserve their own list?
