More captivating than expected, thanks to a script by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada) that understands people are more interesting and important than animals. Matt Damon nails the lead role of handsome widower, Scarlet Johansson is an unlikely but likeable head zoo keeper, and even the kids aren't too irksome.
