A crushing disappointment. Everything that made the original a classic has been rebooted to within an inch of its life. References to the original (from here on in referred to as "The Good Ghostbusters") litter this mess but great care appears to have been taken to ensure each of those familiar moments is made in some way inferior.

A (slightly) more grown up Harry Potter for a (slightly) more grown up audience. Thumping action sequences and great performances, particularly Dan Fogler and even more particularly Alison Sudol, Yes, it could have been 20 minutes shorter and yes, the twist felt a bit bolted on, but even so the first Fantastic Beasts instalment is a lot of fun.

Depending on which of the two types of martial arts movie plot you prefer (fighting your way through a tournament to avenge the death/injury of your friend/relative or learning a new martial arts technique from an old master to avenge the death/injury of your friend/relative) then either this or Kickboxer is Van Damme's best film. Although he should have won two best actor Oscars for Double Impact, obviously.
