Arn: The Knight Templar 2007
Via an Amazon review, I learned that what I saw is a cobbled together 2 hour version of a 6 part mini-series, released specifically for the North American market, emphasizing the action-y parts over the actual story. Which pretty much explains everything I didn't like about it.

Attack the Block 2011
One of my favorite alien invasion movies, ever.

Conan the Barbarian 2011

Haywire 2012
Everything you've read about her acting skills is fairly true, but unlike a lot of supposedly badass female-driven movies, she gets the shit beaten out of her and also beats the shit out of almost everyone in the movie, even squeezing someone to death with her thighs so why wouldn't you watch this movie?

I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK 2007
Imaginative, weird, occasional bouts of unexpected violence. But where I should have been emotionally anchored in the romantic pairing, I was instead oddly distanced.

I Saw The Devil 2011
So intense, I actually covered my eyes with my hands.

Jane Eyre 2011
Fukunaga, the director, seemed to really understand that there is an underlying horror story to Jane Eyre.
Even knowing the plot upside-down and inside-out, there were times when I worried (in a good way) that just maybe Bertha was gonna jump out and start murdering some governesses, Freddie Kruger style.
