Christina Pham’s review:
Amelie possesses this whimsical and magical quality that not a lot of romantic movies possess. Firstly Audrey Tautou was charming. She was vulnerable when appropriate, and had her moments of exuberance. Secondly, the movie wasn't afraid to tread on the grounds of expressing the magical qualities of this movie as being mundane, which I really appreciate as a lover of magical realist works. And finally, the pacing and art direction of the movie was beautiful! The lighting and colors were very warm, and there's never really a dull moment.
