    What appears to be a sweet, simple comedy of errors about a sweet, simple man perceived to be someone else by the people he meets ultimately ends up with the you, the viewer, questioning your own perception. Wonderful.

    Surely director Darren Aronofsky intended this to be a homage to the great Roman Polanski? The similarities, stylistically and narratively, to both Rosemary's Baby and Repulsion are evident throughout. Natalie Portman is superb as a prima ballerina obsessed with the idea that fellow ballerina Mila Kunis might be a better performer than her, or worse, might actually want to become her. Portman's character reminded me of both heroines of the two Polanski films, being very mouselike and shy, almost apologetic…
