I saw the film 10 years ago and wrote in my diary 'so boring and predictable'. I read some positive reviews on it earlier today so thought I'd give it another shot. Although it was slightly more entertaining than I remembered, it is indeed formulaic and predictable. Doesn't help that Kate Hudson is one of the most irritating people on the planet.

I've seen this film about 300 times since I was like 8 and it's still the greatest thing ever. Every goddamn second is amazing.

I was expecting more of a horror film going into this, but found it was really more of a black comedy with some horror elements. We follow Warren Thompson as he goes about a regular day and he’s obviously a very lonely man and possibly a little crazy. He’s very soft-spoken and has a limp, and fits the mold of an introverted character that’s going to go off the rails at any moment. It’s somewhat cliche, but Maynard’s performance prevents…
