  • The Black Cat 1981

    ★★★½ Watched 02 Jun, 2014

a lot of close ups on eyes, disinterested cats and amazing 'special' effects.

  • Godzilla 2014

    ★★★★ Watched 17 May, 2014

for the tone and each appearance of Godzilla from his first to last was fantastic, though at one point i did wonder if all he was going to do was roar at things, then he did do more, the finale of his final fight was perfect, and for Cranston, Binoche and Watanabe NOT for Taylor-Wood, boy, he is one beefed up lump of dullness, why on friggin earth did we have to follow him, anywhere! i don't get the logic on who stayed and went on that one at all.

  • Battleship 2012

    ★★★★½ Watched 13 Apr, 2012 2

How can you pay to see a film of a game & be sniffy about it!? it would be asking a lot to expect high art, i thoroughly enjoyed it, it's got fucking Tadanobu Asano in it for one thing, there's an amazing (as in ridiculous) battleships the boardgame scene, nicely done aliens, a disabled guy hero who was handily a golden gloves champ & when the old guys appear i did a little chear, fantastically cobblers & i'm going to see it again!!

  • The Mutilator 1985

    ★★★½ Watched 27 Mar, 2014 3

a group of friends go to a remote beach house and wander around it, play monopoly and hide and seek then wander around some more, sometimes on their own until they all inevitably meet the Mutilator, he doesn't look much like a Mutilator just a grumpy man, some nice noises, good kills! inc unpleasant fish hooking, very dark lighting throughout and a title/theme song i thought all the way through was called 'Ball Break' until the end credits spoiled it for me
