Michael Offerosky’s review published on Letterboxd:
The Upright Citizen Brigade decided they should make a movie and the result of that is MARTIN & ORLOFF a little better than o.k. comedy with a great cast. Ian Roberts plays Martin, an ad executive who has just survived a suicide attempt, and Matt Walsh is his new shrink, Dr. Orloff. Basically, the plot revolves around the relationship between Martin and Orloff going through many misadventures but dealing with everything but Martin's issues.
Let's face it, a film like this doesn't rely on it's plot, the focus is on the jokes, Here the jokes are hit or miss but the spirit is there and the cast is most certainly game. The Upright Citizens Brigade are all here and accounted for in addition to Roberts and Walsh are Matt Besser and Amy Poehler. Guest stars and cameos include H. Jon Benjamin, Tina Fey, Janeane Garofalo, David Cross, Andy Richter, and Rachel Dratch. MARTIN & ORLOFF is certainly worth a look for fans of the UCB and the comedians mentioned. The film may not be perfect but it's likeable enough. Recommended for people who like their comedy unpredictable and more than a little wild.
