A young man looks at the floor, footsteps are heard, money gets stolen. Cringe-worthy bad acting (supposedly intentional) takes you completely out of the movie. I still watched the whole thing, and liked it.

I dislike the horror genre. I really do. I've tried with old monsters, demons, ghost stories, and with the modern "jump scares" movies. I can't stand them.

The Cabin in the Woods for me is one of the best movies released this year. It may not change the genre, but it gives it something fresh. I would watch more horror movies like this. Movies with an actual script.

Now gimme a spin-off with the control room guys, Whedon.
