Moonrise Kingdom 2012
I have a real on and off thing with Wes Anderson's films, while I love some (Rushmore, Bottle Rocket) I abhor others (Royal Tenebaums, The Life of Aquatic of zzzzzz) Moonrise Kingdom is in the prior, I really enjoyed it with reservations, mainly that the story is a bit slim and the children's acting left a bit to be desired. Overall though a fun way to spend 90mins and what a treat to see a modern film that is actually only 90mins.

Nostalgia for the Light 2010
Essentially various themes interwoven to create a film essay Nostalgia for the light starts out rather slow, I saw it in that warm cocoon that is the NFT1 on a Sunday with a vague hangover and I'll admit I drifted off. Extended scenes with soft piano and slow zooming photography of stars is the cinematic equivalent of a Valium.
The introduction covers Chile's history of astronomy and why the Atacama desert's absence of humidity are perfect for observing the stars.…
