An unusual, excellent performance by Pollyanna McIntosh as the titular "woman" (she's by far the best thing in it, a scary, imposing presence) and an interesting central idea, is let down by snail's pace direction, and a script that's somehow lacking when it should be packing more of a wallop.

The ideas are there. But the decent execution of those ideas, by director Lucky McKee, often isn't.
