    Running zombies and slow zombies in the SAME top 5?! surely you jest. Romero deserves his own top 5, and Sauvini can join in for making an effort.

    I like the idea of this list, but your initial post says not films and their sequels, yet there are a few in those lists that are direct (if not indirect) sequels and/or remakes...?

    I think you could have found footage style films:
    Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity, Troll Hunter, REC and Apollo 18 (off the top of my head)

    @OwenHughes Yeah, I was trying to get across avoiding having Rocky I-V for example, but then broke my own rules(!).
    You guys seem to have the gist of it though.
