So I'm not sure if this would have been funnier if you don't have children but I'm going to presume that answer to that is no. I came into this with somewhat higher expectations due to the trailer of the "dudes group" making this film looking quite hysterical. There are some other good chuckles throughout the film however they showed some of the funniest stuff in the movie in that trailer. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed in the overall comedic quality of this movie. That being said, there are actually some moments I ended up tearing up due to having a daughter of my own. Many things in this film reminded of the first time my daughter came into this world and me being the softy dad that I am for her, those poignant moments hit me pretty hard. There was especially one part where one of the characters ended up having a miscarriage and it's played in slow motion with moving background music. This scene hit me hardest as my wife has had two miscarriages lately. I saw this with my wife and kept trying to peripherally check to see if she was getting a little watery-eyed or not. I never could really tell, but it was all I could do to keep from opening the dam of water works. The mix of the poignant and comedic moments ended up working for the most part. There were some elements of the movie that just didn't really work for the movie but if you have kids or are thinking about having kids it's worth checking out. There are definitely some real-life truths regarding pregnancy and having kids.
