I actually feel really bad writing a negative review for this movie because it's not like other movies I've seen that I dislike. There is a certain amount of whimsy to this film that makes me want to like it, but I just can't get there. I was excited to see this film, and I was enjoying it until about half way through when it just started to get too jokey. Ordinarily, I'd let a movie like this one slide by unscathed, but the fact that so many people love this movie makes me hate it even more so than most bad films I've seen. Most films that I don't like I can usually find something within it that would explain its mass appeal, thus removing any rage I feel toward the love and appreciation the film receives from others.
