Mr. DuLac’s review published on Letterboxd :
I see my fair share of kid's movies, but the ones I dread the most are the live action ones. There are so many duds out there, mostly made by Eddie Murphy, that it's a crap shoot every time you bring your child to the theater.
So far I have to say that the Diary of a Wimpy Kid films have been a pleasant surprise. They are nothing spectacular, but get the job done with a few genuine laughs mixed in. I do think this is weaker then the two previous films, but that might just be my selective memory.
The only sad part about the film is seeing Steve Zahn continually play the same goofy character he's done in numerous films after he's proven that he is actually a decent actor with a bit of range.
