Hostel: Part III 2011 ½

Watched Jul 05, 2012

This is coming from someone who actually enjoyed both of the previous Hostel movies. I enjoy a wide variety of horror from the atmospheric, thriller, monstermash, gorefest, grindhouse, slasher, ect, ect, ect...

Hostel: Part III failed to satisfy me on any level at all. It's not even a bad movie that's fun to watch. Not only did Eli Roth not direct or write this, he didn't even take an Executive Producer credit on it. EVERYONE takes an Executive Producer credit! It's that bad.

Those who love gore, don't think this is a bad movie with lots of gore. It's just a bad movie that's cheap on every level you could imagine from scripting, casting, special effects and location. We get a few exterior shots of Las Vegas and then every scene with the actors looks like it was shot in New Jersey. Just stay away from this. It's 90 minutes long and felt like it lasted 3 hours.

  • I liked the original 2, I was going to get this to complete the set for my DVD collection. I knew it was going to be average at best, but from what you say, it's not even that. I'll dump the idea of buying it.

  • Yeah I thought the same thing before watching it. I'm happy I watched it on NetFlix before. It's really nothing like the two other films at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they adapted an existing script into a Hostel film.

  • I actually like the first two films as well, but I have no desire to see this. I usually stay far away from straight to dvd films especially when none of the original people are involved. It's usually a case of folks trying to make a cheap buck on an established name.

  • It's pretty much it, making money on the name. It had one cool idea in it, but did nothing with it... and the climactic ending is ludicrous.

  • Damn this movie sucked.
