Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies 2012 ★★

Watched Aug 15, 2012

Bill Oberst Jr. steals the show as Abe, leading a group of hapless soldiers, all bearing the most phony facial hair assembled in one film, against a zombie plague. It's a one note film that lasts far too long, but Bill is damn entertaining as honest Abe.

  • Ha ha, as soon as I saw the title of this film I immediately thought another Asylum mockbuster? And I was right.
These guys are seriously onto a winner, producing Z grade ripoffs, for zero budget. They look terrible, the acting's generally worse than shoddy and the scripts are unintentionally laughable, but somehow the films keep making (small) profits, and continue to be produced.
I think some of it might be down to naive housewives buying what they think are the current blockbusters for their kids.
I know my mum went and bought 2012 Doomsday thinking it was the Roland Emmerich blockbuster 2012.

You gotta love these guys' tenacity though even though 95% of what they produce is utter rubbish. (Don't) check out American Warship, Battle Of Los Angeles, The Day The Earth Stopped, or The Mighty Thor. They are all equally as bad as each other, with Battle Of Los Angeles emerging wosrt of all. I could only manage about 15 minutes before I turned it off, which is something I very rarely do!

One Asylum jewel I did see recently though, was 100 Ghost Street: The Return Of Richard Speck. Not too shabby at all.

Forgive me MrBishop if I take some time before I check this out, even though the general consensus agrees with what you say about Bill in the title role.
