I Did Not Know That!
A compilation of the greatest pieces of film trivia and facts, all available in list view. I've started the list with pieces of trivia that genuinely surprised me. Please leave recommend some of your favourites and I'll add them to the list.
I haven't seen Forbidden Planet. I'm not sure if it is a fact that it is an adaptation though, has the filmmaker said that? I know plenty have people have drawn comparisons between the two.
Did you know that Psycho was the first ever movie to have a shot of a flushing toilet? And that the blood being spilt in the shower is actually chocolate syrup?
Read some more about Forbidden Planet/The Tempest. Added it. Cheers.
@Driver They are both great, thanks!
Cool, and did you know Cloud Atlas is the most expensive independent film of all time?
I did! Forgot to add it, cheers for reminding me.
No problem. :-)
That might be an interesting list idea, Carl - offbeat or loose Shakesperean adaptations that do not share the name of the original play. Ran by Akira Kurosawa is an adaptation of King Lear, I think, for instance.
@Steve I agree that would be a good list! It would be better if those films were put into their own list. I'm sure there are tons!
@Steve And The Lion King is Hamlet, isn't it?
