A deeply affecting film. The pace is slow, but the constant tension of a deteriorating psyche makes up for this. Shannon is at his raw and powerful best, while Chastain's grounded performance compliments him perfectly. Definitely worth a watch.

Absolutely wonderful. Very similar in tone to In Bruges and just as funny. Gleeson is once again superb and Cheadle is a brilliant foil for him.

I went into this film fairly blind, not knowing much about it other than the obvious older man loves young girl scenario. I thought it was excellent, as you would expect with Kubrick, and the standard of the acting was superb.
