Reviews were surprisingly mixed but I could not help but find this as enjoyable as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, even more so in parts. Maybe my cynicism is waning with age.

Though I was rewatching this for a blog post, I have to say it fared better than I thought.

I thought this film was (cliché about greatness). (cliche cliche) how dare they take it off the top of the BFI list (rhubarb rhubarb). Orson Welles is a (obvious allusion to his genius, reference Mr Arkadin, Touch of Evil, F For Fake) who (may never be matched/may never be equalled/once in a lifetime). (Now paraphrasing) AWESOME AWESOME.
