On the one hand, this movie is a film lovers dream: a unique setting seldom seen on film (Swansea in Wales), great cinematography and references to fantastic films about childhood and loss like 'Don't Look Now', 'Rushmore', and 'The 400 Blows.' One the other hand it's a wonderfully funny and tragic story about the pains of adolescence. A film about the painful gap between loneliness, love, and friendship. That the emotional lives of teenagers is what makes the world vibrate and come to life.
Directed by Richard Ayoade (Dean Lerner from 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace'!!), it's beautifully shot with fantastic use of color and light full of visual ideas.
