  • Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky 1991

    ★★★★½ Watched 17 Feb, 2013

I don't really know exactly how to describe the pure joy I got out of this movie. It's a perfect storm of cheesy cliched kung fu plot, horrible production value, over the top gore and violence, ridiculous dubbing, and accidental brilliance. ★½ Watched 17 Feb, 2013

Next she introduces the people we will be trying to give two shits about. First her name is…

  • Chimpanzee 2012

    ★★★ Watched 19 Sep, 2012

As far as Disney nature docs go this one is frustratingly typical from a narrative and editing perspective but it is absolutely gorgeously filmed. Children will love it and there are enough interesting chimp scenes to forgive the obvious dense story spine the filmmakers are going for. The Making Of Docs are actually better than the film but this is still better than say Oceans and is a decent enough family movie night although in terms of learning about chimpanzees…
