Supergirl 1984

Nathan Evans’s review:
To put it mildly, Supergirl is a bit of a mess. It is illogical and incoherent, both within the context of the Superman franchise (what happened to him being the last of his kind?) and the film itself.
However, it is still difficult to wholy dislike. Whilst Helen Slater is bland as Supergirl (though admittedly with very little to work with), Brenda Vaccaro is a delight and Peter Cook and Faye Dunaway provide delightfully hammy turns as the villains.
Plus, who can really dislike a film so naive that it turns a battle for the fate of the world into a catfight over Ellis from Die Hard?
