[Big ‘ol superhero movie] It’s not as bad as it was reviewed. It of course fails the part that I assumed it would, balancing the Earth story with a universe scale issue. In particular when Hal has to fight Parallax, it’s really dumb. It would have been better if they could have mostly left parallax out of this and just had a story of Hal dealing with becoming a hero and fighting Hector Hammond. That might have been a good enough story to warrant a sequel where they dealt with a larger scale issue for the corp. I thought the special effects were good. I mostly enjoyed Reynolds. I thought Peter Saarsgard had a lot of fun with his role. So yeah, until they had to confront parallax, it was a fine movie. Wish I’d seen it in 3D.
