[Classic] I can see how it was probably seminal in how it addressed alcoholism at such an early time. And it does a number of things smart. Like how it will show a comic drunk moment but then stay with the drunk until it stops being funny and you see the harm he is doing. I also liked the scene of the girl trying to save the guy when he was suicidal. She wasn’t necessarily offering good things - to save him by having him get drunk - but her desperation was well done. Overall I didn’t care for the movie. It has been done better since.
