A reminder of just how spoilt we've been with the relatively high standard of comic book adaptations in recent years. It harks back to the days when dodgy scripts, D-list supporting casts and cheap special effects were the order of the day.

Putting aside the fact that the Prometheus is seemingly crewed by the worst scientists in the universe, I enjoyed the film. It's gorgeous to look at, the thrill of having Ridley Scott directing a proper sci-fi movie again makes it well worth at least a look, and I enjoyed the implications on the Alien series – one of my favourites – without trampling on the legacy like so many movies of this type can do.

Good, but the weakest of the trilogy. Without spoiling anything, it felt like it was more of a comic book movie than the real-world, grounded interpretations of Batman in the previous two. A good ending, though.
