Sure, it has its flaws but I really enjoyed the heck out of this. Another great Tilda Swinton performance plus a very tight and inventive, if melodramatic, plot. Of course there are holes and some lines are clunkers but even filmmakers as great as Bong can't make masterpieces every time. Well worth watching if you're a fan of systolic sci-fi.
Malle's enigmatic, surreal, dreamy riff on Alice in Wonderland. Strange that I've never watched this before considering it's right up my alley. As Malle deliberately avoided a clear plot, BLACK MOON seems a little unfocused so I'm not head over heels but I highly recommend it for fans of oneiric cinema. It's certainly one-of-a-kind and Cathryn Harrison (in the lead role of Lily) is a pretty magnetic presence.
