Although am not Trekkie I still enjoy the films and have liked Voyager, Next Generation and Deep Space NIne. I was a little worried I have to admit that this film would butcher my childhood memories of them all.

The result however was brilliant take on the origin story letting the film makers mold future stories and not have to worry that it doesn't match previous storylines.

Hopefully a great step towards an even better sequel next year.
