Tangerine is great in how it relies on the characters to push the story along and it never feels forced or calculated. The characters are extremely flawed but I always manage to feel sorry or reason their actions one way or another. It's been awhile since I manage to really care about characters before so this was refreshing. There's a really good perspective on trans people that never seems as victimising or shaming them which I thought really added to the charm of Tangerine.

Moonrise Kingdom 2012
I feel like this movie might be Wes Anderson's best. All of my favourite classic shots from him was all present in the movie. It is also applied in a way that's subtle and real in the setting(i.e. camp grounds). Since, I love all of Wes Anderson's movies, it's not really a surprise I felt the same way for this as well.

The Way He Looks 2014
I love love this movie! The simpleness and childishness of the characters really captured my heart. I felt really drawn to them especially Leo with his escapism. The build up of Leo and Gabriel's relationship was simple and flawless. I love how the main characters managed to have 3-dimensional characteristics. Namely, Gabriel, Leo and Giovanni. Leo's parents also display the same portrayal. I love the ending most of all and found it to be a great way to wrap up the story. This is truly a beautiful film of adolescent struggles and love.
